For decades, residents of the West Side neighborhood in Paris, Kentucky suffered from, and objected to, the running of an active transfer station in their neighborhood. In 2019, the Westside Neighborhood Association came together as an intergenerational coalition to make change happen.
Through partnership, collaboration, and community action they successfully worked on an agreement with their local government to shut down the site – creating a pathway to reimagine the space as a vibrant new park and green space. Tune into Groundwork USA’s webinar and listen to the Paris Westside Neighborhood Association tell their story and share how they worked together to create this opportunity. If you’re interested in watching the trailer or short film, check them out below the webinar!
