How do you give back to your community?Groundwork USA is launching its first #GivingTuesday campaign, and we need your help.

The theme of our campaign is #GroundworkChangemakers. We want to highlight the ways that the staff, youth, community members, volunteers, Board members, and partners who make up the Groundwork network are giving back to communities across the US, working day-in and day-out to “Change Places, Change Lives.”

#GivingTuesday is celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the US) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Its aim is to kick off the charitable giving season and get people energized about giving to causes important to them. This year, Giving Tuesday will be celebrated on November 28, 2017.

How can you participate?

  1. Like and Share #GroundworkChangemakers social media posts.
From November 21 through Giving Tuesday, Groundwork USA will post to our social media accounts about all the ways Groundwork youth, volunteers, staff, and community members are working to make their communities healthier places to live, work, and play. Please follow us and like and share our posts!

  2. On Giving Tuesday, post to your favorite social media channels and include a #GroundworkChangemaker card.
    • Download and print out#GroundworkChangemaker cards for your social media posts.
    • Jot down a few words about what you or they do or want to do for your community. Use a marker!
    • It’s fine to use either the #GroundworkChangemaker (single) or #GroundworkChangemakers (plural) cards, whichever works best for what you’re saying. We’re using them both in this campaign.
    • Make sure to include the #GroundworkChangemakers and #GivingTuesday hashtags in the text that accompanies your post.

Don’t have a Groundwork Trust in your community? No problem. Because Giving Tuesday is about building a culture of giving around the country, Groundwork USA is encouraging everyone who works to improve their community to participate in the campaign. You can be a #GroundworkChangemaker by giving back to your community, even if there is no Groundwork Trust where you live.

Thank you for joining this movement with us to honor the #GroundworkChangemakers in your community!
