Community Food
What we eat, and how we get what we eat, has a direct effect on our health and the well-being of our environment, economy, and community. Groundwork trusts are working hand-in-hand with communities across the country to improve the culture of food in our society; partnering with small, local farms to create community supported agriculture (CSA) programs that provide access to fresh, healthy, affordable produce to neighborhoods that were greatly lacking, claiming vacant lots as community gardens where people of all ages and backgrounds can experience the joy of growing their own food, and implementing educational programs to teach about food, health, and the effects that food systems have on our environment.
