School Gardens
Groundwork trusts across the country have worked with a number of schools to build on-campus gardens that serve as inspiring outdoor classrooms. School gardens provide an interactive space to educate on a number of subjects from math, science, and art to wellness, nutrition, and sustainability.

Many Groundwork trusts work with schools to improve the green space on campus, forming after school groups and teaching students how to beautify their school community. This promotes stewardship and connects youth to the nature that exists within a built, urban environment.
- Groundwork Milwaukee works with schools to improve their outdoor facilities for recreation and education. GWM has developed a relationship with Milwaukee Public Schools to assist in “greening” schoolyards and playfields.
- Groundwork Gary works with schools to improve their outdoor facilities for recreation and education.
